Thank you to all those who provided feedback.

Have your say on proposed changes to Queensland's main law governing disability rights, services and safeguards.

As Queensland transitions to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), we are reviewing the Disability Services Act 2006 to ensure we have laws in place to reflect the changing landscape of how supports for people with disability are funded and delivered across Australia.

The Queensland Government's role in the disability sector is also changing. Moving forward, our primary focus will be championing accessibility and inclusion of people with disability within the community.

We have developed a range of suggested changes that could be made to our disability legislation, and we want to find out which of these proposed changes are important to you.

Learn more about the legislation and consultation in the Options Paper, or our short videos (also viewable above and to the right), and then take our survey to let us know what you think.

Read the full options paper: Reshaping the Disability Services Act 2006: an inclusive and accessible Queensland (PDF) (DOCX), or read our Easy Read version (PDF) (DOCX) of the proposed changes to learn more.

Note: Visit our department website for transcripts of videos.
