Our work to date on the development of the strategic plan, has been informed by:

  • Planning activities within the former Department of Communities, Disability Services and Seniors,
  • Planning activities within the former Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships
  • Targeted consultations with key stakeholders

Our Strategic Plan outline how our department contributes to the government's objectives for the community, Unite and Recover, by:

  • Backing our frontline services.
  • Growing our regions.

About us

Following the machinery-of-government (MoG) changes implemented on 12 November 2020, the Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships was abolished as a department. Additionally, significant functional changes occurred within the Department of Communities, Disability Services and Seniors, including functions delivered by Communities’ program areas separating from the Disability and Seniors program areas. The functions of the former Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships were transferred and the new Department of Seniors, Disability Services and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships (the new department) formed.
